On 2025-01-27 Joel was arrested outside an Adelaide court while he waiting for 16 National Socialist Network members to be granted bail. The members had been arrested two days prior during the Australia Day march. Joel was asked to provide his ID to the police but was not carrying his ID. Joel told them he was willing to give them his information but moments later the policeman accused Joel of 'wearing a Nazi symbol' and signaled to the other officers to arrest him. Joel denied displaying a Nazi symbol, and ask what symbol the officer was referring to but was ignored. Joel is being held in police custody in Adelaide, and has been denied bail.
