On 2025-01-27 Joel was arrested outside an Adelaide court while he waiting for 16 National Socialist Network members to be granted bail. The members had been arrested two days prior during the Australia Day march. While originally believed to have been arrested for "loitering", Joel was later told that he was arrested for "displaying a Nazi symbol" because he was wearing a National Socialist Network patch.
